Rotary Helps Steer the MotorGP Success
Oct 2025
The Phillip Island & San Remo Rotary Club once again rolled up their sleeves to take on one of the island's biggest challenges -- and biggest opportunities -- by assisting with parking operations at the Australian MotoGP. Over the race weekend, our Rotary team helped guide thousands of cars and motorbikes safely into the circuit, ensuring a smooth and friendly arrival for motorsport fans from all over Australia and beyond.
What may look like a simple task is, in fact, one of our most significant community efforts each year. Coordinating parking for an event of this scale requires teamwork, communication, and plenty of endurance -- and our volunteers delivered all three in abundance!
The MotoGP parking project is not just about high-vis vests and waving flags -- it's about raising funds that make a lasting impact locally. Every dollar earned goes directly toward Rotary's five-year commitment to the Rotary Rehabilitation Courtyard at the new Phillip Island Community Hospital.
A huge thank you goes out to every Rotarian and community volunteer who braved the unpredictable island weather, donned their high-vis gear, and helped keep traffic moving safely throughout the weekend. Your good humour, commitment, and teamwork made all the difference.
And to the many MotoGP fans who waved, smiled, and offered a friendly word of thanks -- we noticed, and we appreciated it! It's that sense of shared goodwill that reminds us why Rotary does what it does.
Thank you for supporting Rotary -- and we'll see you at next year's MotoGP!
