The Ford Falcon vs the Holden Commodore – this is the V8 Supercar Races that rumble the Phillip Island Circuit every year, and often more than once a year. It is a big deal for ‘petrol heads’ and for our Rotary Club.
40,000 visitors and many more TV viewers engage in this event. For our Club the V8 Supercars is an important fundraiser as we work with the organisers to provide secure car parking for thousands of ticket holders of the event.
As with the Moto GP parking we provide, this is a huge event and a big logistical task for our Club. We do not have sufficient members to fully run the parking activities each day, so again friends, visitors and family are all coerced into helping out.
We are fortunate that we have a good team spirit across our Club and this event is great fun for all. Volunteers are welcome and needed, so think about joining the team and help out at the next V8 Supercar event. Contact us for more details. We would love to have you join us.
